App Store Connect vendor number: where to find it
Short version: App Store Connect home → Payments and Financial Reports. The number sits top left, under your legal entity name, labelled Vendor #. Eight digits, starts with 8, something like 85012345. If the Payments page is missing from your home screen, your role is the reason, not the browser.
The click path, and the second place that works
- 1. App Store Connect → Payments and Financial Reports. Top left, directly under the legal entity name, you get Vendor # followed by the digits. If your account has more than one legal entity, the entity name is a pop-up menu and each entry carries its own vendor number.
- 2. App Store Connect → Sales and Trends → Reports. The download page prints the vendor number in its header. This is the route for anyone with the Sales role who cannot open Payments.
- 3. Any report file you already downloaded. Financial report filenames and the daily sales TSV name both embed it, as in S_D_85012345_20261101.txt. Useful on the day the site is down.
Nothing else on the site shows it. Users and Access, App Information, Agreements and the API keys page all leave it out, which is why people copy an Issuer ID or a Team ID into the field by mistake and get a report request rejected.
Can't see Payments and Financial Reports? It's the role
Apple limits that page to the Account Holder, Admin and Finance roles. A Developer, Marketing, App Manager or Sales user gets a home screen without the tile. Three ways out: ask an Admin to read the eight digits aloud, ask for the Finance role, or use the Sales and Trends reports page if you hold Sales. The number is not a credential, so sharing it inside the team is fine. It is only useful together with an API key that already has report access.
What the vendor number identifies
It names your sales-reporting entity: the legal party that Apple pays. One developer account normally has one, created the moment the Paid Apps agreement is signed. It never changes, it is not tied to any single app, and every app under the entity reports under the same number. Teams that run two legal entities, say a company and a sole trader, get two numbers and have to pick the right one per request.
Where you'll be asked for it
- App Store Connect API sales reports. GET /v1/salesReports requires filter[vendorNumber] next to the report type, subtype, frequency and date. Leave it out and Apple answers 400 before it even checks the key.
- Finance reports. GET /v1/financeReports wants the same filter plus a region code and a fiscal period.
- Reporter, Apple's legacy Java tool. Sales.getReport and Finance.getReport take the vendor number as their first argument.
- Revenue dashboards and warehouse connectors. Anything that pulls your sales TSVs, from subscription analytics tools to Airbyte, Fivetran and Stripe Data style connectors, has a Vendor Number field in its setup form.
- FunnelHound. The analytics side (impressions, page views, installs, deletions) needs no vendor number at all; it comes from the Analytics Reports API. The money side does: paste the eight digits once in Settings and the revenue, MRR and recent sales widgets switch from demo to your real proceeds.
Look-alikes that get pasted into the vendor field
| Value | Shape | Identifies | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vendor Number | 8 digits, starts with 8 | Your legal reporting entity | Payments and Financial Reports |
| Apple ID of an app | 10 digits, starts with 1 or 6 | One app | App Information |
| Issuer ID | UUID with hyphens | Your team, for the API | Users and Access → Integrations |
| Key ID | 10 letters and digits | One API key | Team Keys table |
| Team ID | 10 letters and digits | Your signing account | developer.apple.com |
| SKU | Whatever you typed | One app, your own label | App Information |
Digits only and eight of them: that is the vendor number. Ten digits is an app's App Store ID. Hyphens mean you are holding the Issuer ID. Letters mixed in means a Key ID or a Team ID. The shape settles it before any form has to.
Two numbers? Pick by entity, not by app
When the entity picker on the Payments page lists several names, each has a vendor number and each reports only the apps that belong to it. A report request with the wrong number comes back empty rather than wrong, which is the sneaky failure: no error, no rows, and an afternoon spent suspecting the API key. Check the picker first.
Vendor number found? Let it earn its keep
Drop it into FunnelHound once and the proceeds, MRR trend and recent sales for every app under that entity show up on your iPhone, next to the funnel that produced them.
Get FunnelHoundData notes: page location and role requirements per Apple's App Store Connect Help ("View payments and proceeds") as of 2026. 85012345 is a placeholder. Filename patterns follow Apple's sales and finance report naming; Apple occasionally reshuffles the home tiles, and the account search box still finds Payments and Financial Reports when it does.
